Is Your Child Struggling To Learn To Read? Let Me Teach Them Instead!

According to the Nation’s Report Card, only 33% of 4th graders, 31% of 8th graders, and 37% of 12th graders scored at or above the proficiency level on reading in their standardized testing. Approximately 40% of students did not even reach the “basic” reading level for their age groups.

If your child, or you yourself need some extra help learning to read, you’ve come to the right place!

I love helping children (and adults) go from “Reading is too hard!” to “I just finished the 3rd book in this series! When can we get the next one?”

If that is what you want for your child, be sure to get in contact me with ASAP.

What Does The Initial Consultation Look Like?

During our 30 minute consultation, I will spend 5-10 minutes talking with the parent about their child’s needs and abilities. I will then spend 15 minutes talking with the child (the parent may or may not be present, their choice) and getting a feel for their currently abilities, goals, and interests. I will then return to the conversation with the parent and will discuss my initial impression, and how I think I could help the child moving forward.

What Happens After the Consultation?

If you choose to sign up for online reading lessons, you will receive an email no more than one week from the initial date of our consultation. This email will include a basic plan of action individualized to your child’s needs, abilities, and interests as well as our terms and services. You will then receive the primary text we will be using for the course in the mail (or email if it’s available as an e-book).

Once you have received the above, you will let me know you agree to the plan (or any way we need to modify it) and terms of service, we will choose a start date and time for our zoom meetings.

Each day thereafter I will meet with your child for 10-20 minutes (depending on the focus and attention ability of the student) on Zoom where we will focus on learning new concepts, reviewing old ones, and practicing reading sentences or stories. You may choose to have lessons 3, 4, or 5 days a week.

You will receive an email each week detailing the progress that was made, and giving some helpful tips on things you can do at home to further their progress.

What Types of Learners Will You Work With?

I will work with anyone who will allow me. I primarily work with children ages 6-10, but I am open to those both younger and older who are capable of focusing for the 10-20 minute daily sessions. Learners must be engaged and responsive and must be willing to do the work of learning to read.

I can help children and adults from 4-104 to learn to read, and to learn to read well in just 15 minutes a day.

What Methods Do You Use?

I do not personally like “labels” of methodology, as I believe each child has their own unique needs and learning styles and I do my best to adjust my tools to the person I am working with. Here are a few things that will be consistent for each learner, however.

How Much Does It Cost?

Other tutoring companies charge $30 or more per lesson. At Leading Limitless Learners, however, we want to make reading instruction available to everyone. As such, we charge $30 per week. That means only $6 per lesson for five lesson weeks! In an effort to help those in need, however, $3 from each paid week is put into a fund to help a struggling reader who is unable to afford our services.

We are also occasionally able to trade services with families or other types of bartering as we agree upon.

Basically, if you’re interested in our services, reach out and we will do our best to improve your or your child’s reading ability as quickly and joyfully as possible! I am so excited to work with you. Click the button below and we’ll get started
